space planning:
Wagstaff Design Studio

Wagstaff Interiors Group was appointed as the main contractor after a successful tender process. The project was to rejuvenate an Italian restaurant into a vibrant cafe and restaurant. This involved complete removal of a structural wall and fit out, including new utilities, joinery works and installation of electronically operated Velux windows.

The Challenge

Our aim was to provide a fresh and exciting interiors to a well established Italian cafe and restaurant. The main project ran on time and was actually expanded to encompass additional works, at the request of the owner. Working on an old building led to some unforeseen hurdles, which were over come as they arose, without causing any delays. Warm wooden flooring connects the bar dining to the main restaurant space – curving subtly down a ramp that adjoins a curved timber partition. Walking down to this space reveals that the curved partition houses a special booth for large parties or for those requiring more privacy.

Oak veneer with a Marabou stain createdcontinuity throughout. Bespoke features included the light fittings, table tops and the circular seating area. Beautiful fabrics in tones of lime, aubergine and shocking pink, chosen
by KBA+D to reflect the colours in the fresco, were upholstered to create comfortable seating and stylish light fittings
