Connectivity, collaboration and continuity outside of the office

We are entering the age of the knowledge worker and the knowledge economy – those for whom work is a product of creating, sharing and improving an organisation’s knowledge-base.  Collaboration, learning and communication are now at the heart of work, yet not of most workplaces.   This mismatch between workstyle and workplace is a cause of disruption and low productivity for knowledge workers.  Through implementing agile, remote and home working, organisations can significantly increase productivity, and realise a substantial number of other benefits.  Early adopters of home working are testament to the benefits possible.
Adoption of home working is rising in all sectors and across the globe – but we believe that home working should be seen as a part of a larger view on agility and flexibility in the workplace.  Implementing home working requires a shift in management to a ‘results only work environment’, where only output rather than input is measured, as well as the support of mobile technology and a programme of change management to enable employees to make the best use of the spaces and tools available to them.
